It is easy to get lost in our thinking during these times. The truth is, working with a counselor is a healthy way to address these issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5> What happens during a session? <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Each session is unique. They are tailor made to fit the needs of the individual and what they are experiencing. The question I always begin with is \u201cHow are you?\u201d Where the session goes from there is based on each individual. It is not a doctor\/patient dynamic, but more like a conversation between friends. During this time we focus on drawing out the strength and wisdom that is already inside of you to empower you to rediscover your own innate health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5> What about the past? Are you going to ask me about my childhood? <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p> Though past experiences and difficulties do come up, I do not focus on the past. The past is no longer here. I offer guidance to help you move past the negative thoughts of the past and address your mindset in the present. It is in the present that we uncover positive solutions and hope for the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5> What about medication? <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p> While medications can play a helpful role in the healing process in certain situations, they are not a permanent solution. I am not a doctor and I don\u2019t write prescriptions.
